Offers Internet (10 computers, user pays), E-Resource (6 computers, MS and selected websites, for research, homework, CVs, training), Genealogy (3 computers for family history/whakapapa research), 3CS Computer Club (weekly, not holidays), Free Wi-Fi (30 min – CBDs). The library has also teamed up with the Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa to provide Stepping UP – free computer & internet training for adults, in easy steps, in informal, friendly classes; and Spark Jump – prepay broadband with no contract, no credit checks, no set-up charges; for families with children.
JUMP is a pre-pay internet connection designed for families with children aged up to 18 who don’t have a current broadband connection at home, and whose household is in a 4G/4G700 coverage area.
Workshop participants receive a free Wi-Fi modem and their first 30GB of data is free. Top-ups are $10 for 30GB on a pre-pay service – there is no fixed contract required.
