Tararua Libraries in Dannevirke and Woodville have free access to computers, WiFi, scanning, eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers. Gain technology skills including online searching, job applications, local and family history/whakapapa.
The libraries have also teamed up with the Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa to provide Stepping UP; free computer & internet classes delivered in easy 2 hour steps in subjects relevant to your life and work. They also offer the low-cost and financially flexible connectivity initiative, JUMP.
JUMP is a pre-pay internet connection designed for families with children aged up to 18 who don’t have a current broadband connection at home, and whose household is in a 4G/4G700 coverage area.
Workshop participants receive a free Wi-Fi modem and their first 30GB of data is free. Top-ups are $10 for 30GB on a pre-pay service – there is no fixed contract required.
Contact Alice Leadbetter or Heather Taylor on 06 374 4255 or check local class listings.
