Far North ICT Trust addresses digital literacy in the Far North, running Computers In Homes in the area, Stepping UP – free computer training for adults – at Kaitaia Library and Kerikeri Procter Library. They provide an innovative wireless/satellite initiative at Umawera School and Okaihau School. They are a Digital Inclusion Alliance delivery partner.
Stepping UP; is a free computer & internet classes delivered in easy 2 hour steps in subjects relevant to your life and work.They also offer the low-cost and financially flexible connectivity initiative, JUMP.
JUMP is a pre-pay internet connection designed for families with children aged up to 18 who don’t have a current broadband connection at home, and whose household is in a 4G/4G700 coverage area.
Workshop participants receive a free Wi-Fi modem and their first 30GB of data is free. Top-ups are $10 for 30GB on a pre-pay service – there is no fixed contract required.
