    The COVID-19 lockdown is affecting all programmes, and many will be suspended.

    Programme status (if known) during the Lockdown:

    • Skinny Jump (previously called Spark Jump) is continuing with a new no-contact process and eligibility has been extended. However, not all partners will be operating.
    • Family Connect, Northland Connect, Pasifika Seniors Connect, Refugee Connect and Stepping UP classes are suspended.

    Other: Computers in Home is no longer operating through schools; ICDL and KiwiSkills was terminated last year.

    As an independent, member-driven organisation, we have a 27-year history with more than 200 members aged from 51 to 97 from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels.

    Our objectives include:

    • enabling people over the age of 50 to use desktop computers, laptops, cellphones, tablets, etc in an economical and relaxed manner
    • providing opportunities for those already with computing experience to explore favourite specialty subjects
    • encouraging experienced users to assist others in areas of their expertise

    Learning is conducted by our enthusiastic tutors (mainly members) in a very relaxed and cheerful manner with a wide range of tutorial and discussion group sessions. Sessions are each 2-hours on weekdays (mornings and some afternoons). To satisfy demand some are now available on Saturdays.

    The Help Centre is set up to help those new to computers and those wishing to upgrade their skills or experiencing problems using their device.     Computer Owners Group – COG (monthly)
    This users group is for computer users at all levels of experience. Come along and contribute, enjoy yourself and learn something new. The format is primarily a question and answer session, where we can all help each other to solve problems, simple or complex.
